Spanish shares gain Friday

Spanish stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark Ibex-35 index up 0.6 percent to close at 9,462.70 points.

For the whole week, the index was down 0.43 percent.

Indra A led the winners by advancing 2.27 percent. Melia Hotels rose by 1.9 percent, Merlin by 1.76 percent and Mapfre by 1.4 percent.

The top loser of the day was Spanish bank Banco Popular, which plunging 7.43 percent after announcing an annual loss of 3.5 billion euros (3.77 billion U.S. dollars).

Steel producer ArcelorMittal lost 2.32 percent, and telecom operator Cellnex dropped 1.77 percent.

This week, the Spanish risk premium went from 115 points on Monday to 122 points on Friday. Spain's 10 year bond interest rate went from 1.63 percent on Monday to 1.67 percent on Friday. Endit
