Macedonia's economy to grow by 3.5 pct in 2017: central bank

Macedonia's economic growth reached at 2.4 percent in the third quarter 2016, mainly driven by the positive performance of the construction sector, the national bank of Macedonia said Thursday.

The bank said that Macedonian economy is recovering at a solid pace, supported by the credit activities of domestic banks, free of price pressure and in conditions of maintaining an appropriate level of foreign currency reserves.

Meantime, the central bank confirmed the continuation of the upward trend of the economy here saying that the GDP projections for 2017 stand at 3.5 percent.

Referring to bank's projections, the Macedonian economy is expected to increase by up to 3.7 percent in 2018.

The central bank also highlighted that despite rising risks related to domestic and outside factors but also considering the political uncertainties, the foundations of Macedonian economy remained solid in 2016. Enditem
