Singapore stocks close 0.76 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 23.41 points, or 0.76 percent, to close at 3,044.08.

A total of 2.53 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.11 billion Singapore dollars (789.42 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 220 to 198, while 666 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 20.69 points, or 0.68 percent, to close at 3,067.49 on Tuesday. Endit
