Poland's GDP grew 2.8 pct in 2016: statistical office

Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) informed on Tuesday that basing on the preliminary data, the country's economy observed an estimated growth of 2.8 percent year-on-year in 2016.

During a press conference, GUS President Dominik Rozkrut informed that the economic growth was slower in 2016 compared with previous two years. In 2015, the growth reached 3.9 percent.

The office also informed that the domestic demand in 2016 grew by 2.8 percent, against 3.4 percent in 2015, while the Individual consumption grew by 3.6 percent year-on-year, against 3.2 percent in 2015.

And signs of the end of deflation and beginning of inflation might be observed, according to the office.

The unemployment rate meanwhile decreased to 8.3 percent in the end of the year. Enditem
