One miner killed, two injured after mine collapses in north Albania

One miner was killed, and two others seriously injured in a mining accident in Tropoja, northern Albania, on Friday, local media reported.

Sources from the state police said that the tunnel in Lajthiza mine collapsed, trapping one of the miners inside. The miners had tried to help each other.

The body of the victim was later taken out by rescue crew.

Several others sought medical help for injuries and two of them were hospitalized.

A group of experts went to the scene. They were expected to deliver a report on the cause of the collapse. Enditem
