Monaco poised to sign Brazilian left-back Jorge

Xinhua, January 27, 2017 Adjust font size:

Monaco are set to sign highly rated Brazilian left-back Jorge from Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo.

The Ligue 1 outfit are understood to have agreed in principal to nine million-euro transfer fee for the 20-year-old.

"It's a big loss. Jorge is a very talented player," Flamengo coach Ze Ricardo told Uol Esporte on Thursday. "If he leaves he is going to be missed, but that's football."

Jorge has made 54 first-team appearances for Flamengo since his debut in 2104.

He was rewarded for an impressive 2016 season with his first Brazil cap in the Selecao's 1-0 friendly victory over Colombia on Wednesday. Endit
