Kuwait extends visit invitation to Lebanon's president

Xinhua, January 25, 2017 Adjust font size:

Kuwaiti envoy Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah al-Mubarak al-Sabah met with President Michel Aoun at the Presidential Palace, the National News Agency (NNA) reported Tuesday.

The Kuwaiti envoy, who arrived in Beirut on Monday night to hold talks with senior Lebanese officials, extended an invitation to Aoun to visit Kuwait on behalf of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, the NNA added.

Lebanon has witnessed a flurry of Arab diplomatic activity, mainly after the election of Aoun as president on Oct. 31, 2016, ending a two-year vacuum of the top state post that started with the end of the six-year term of former President Michel Suleiman. Endit
