Afghan forces kill 4 militants in NE province

A total of four Taliban fighters have been killed and three others injured as clash flared up in Burka district of Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province Monday night, a security official Abdul Khalil said Tuesday.

The clash, according to the official, erupted after a group of Taliban militants attacked security checkpoints in Falul area of Burka district Monday night and security forces returned fire.

The militants fled the area after suffering four dead and three injured.

Taliban fighters are yet to make comment.

Baghlan province with Pul-e-Khumri as its capital 160 km north of Kabul has been the scene of increasing insurgency over the past six years. Endit
