Coritiba confirm Ronaldinho talks

Xinhua, January 19, 2017 Adjust font size:

Brazilian Serie A club Coritiba have confirmed they are in talks to sign two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho.

Coritiba officials met with Ronaldinho and his brother, Roberto Assis, to discuss contract terms in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, according to the club's vice president, Jose Macedo.

"We agreed that they [Ronaldinho and Assis] will send a proposal to Coritiba with their demands," Macedo was quoted as saying by Gazeta Esportiva.

"We can't pass our financial limit. But if it's within our possibilities, we will analyze it," he added.

Ronaldinho, 36, has been without a team since leaving Brazil's Fluminense in September 2015. In the past year he has made one-off friendly appearances in Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, the United States and China, as well as participating in a futsal tournament in India. Endit
