Vietnam and Japan vowed here Monday that the two countries will closely coordinate to make the upcoming visit of Japanese emperor and empress to the Southeast Asian nation in spring 2017 a success.
The remarks were made at talks between Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, who is visiting Vietnam on Monday and Tuesday.
At a press conference after the talks, Phuc urged Japan to continue providing Vietnam with official development assistance (ODA) in the future, with focus on key large-scale infrastructure projects, personnel training and response to climate change.
In hi-tech agricultural cooperation, Abe said that Japan has granted import license for Vietnamese red flesh dragon fruit, while Phuc told reporters that Vietnam also granted imported license for Japanese peach. Enditem
