The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Saturday.

-- The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres is going to attend the 28th Ordinary Assembly of the African Union (AU) heads of state and government which will be held here in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,on January 30-31.

According to the spokesperson of Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tewolde Mulugeta, more than 20 leaders of international institutions including UN Chief will attend the meeting. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/EBC)

-- Some 22 African leaders have so far confirmed their presence at the 28th ordinary session of the summit of the African Union (AU) heads of state and government, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The summit, which will chart the continent's development agenda, including the appointment of new chairperson for the African Union Commission, will be held from 30-31 January, 2017 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

-- The National Meteorological Agency (NMA) said the current cold temperature will decrease as of late this month. Ethiopia experienced the coldest temperature in the past months.
