Malta to set up job brokerage office for migrants

Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said Thursday that his government is planning to set up a job brokerage office.

The aim of such a brokerage office would be to handle the employment of migrants, he said.

With the proposed job brokerage office, employers can acquire the services of migrants in a regulated fashion, so that they will not be abused, Muscat said.

The plan came amid concerns following media reports about immigrants being exploited by unscrupulous entrepreneurs. Endit
