China's railway police nab 1,354 scalpers ahead of festival

Chinese police apprehended 1,354 railway ticket scalpers in a security campaign ahead of the Chinese lunar new year, which falls on Jan. 28 this year.

Police confiscated 124,327 railway tickets in 1,140 scalping cases and seized 77,455 counterfeit tickets.

Around 356 million railway trips are expected between Jan. 13 and Feb. 21, according to a previous announcement by railway police authorities.
