Over 9,300 foreign companies operate in Albania

The number of foreign companies established and operating in Albania has been over 9,300, official data issued by the National Business Centre (NBC) confirmed Friday.

According to the data which refer to the year 2016, about 75 percent of these foreign companies are owned by international investors while 25 percent consists of joint ventures with both Albanian and foreign capital.

The National Business Centre said that the bulk of these companies concentrated in the Albanian capital.

In terms of their economic activity, the data issued by NBC showed that 29 percent of the foreign companies carry out trade activities, 14 percent in the processing industry sector, 9 percent in construction sector, and 7 percent in professional, scientific and technical activities. Endit
