Xinhua, January 2, 2017 Adjust font size:

At least one civilian has been killed and three others injured as clash flared up between security forces and Taliban militants in northern Afghanistan on Monday, according to a local security source.

The clash erupted on a road linking the northern Kunduz province to the neighboring Takhar province during which the driver of a civilian car lost his life and three female travelers sustained injuries, said the source.

Taliban has also suffered casualties during the crossfire which lasted for a couple of hours, he said.

However, Taliban militants, who often block the road in Khan Abad district which links Kunduz to Takhar, are yet to make comment. Endit
