At least 25 dead in road accident in eastern Thailand

Xinhua, January 2, 2017 Adjust font size:

At least 25 people died after a van collided with a pickup truck and caught fire in Thailand's eastern Chonburi province on Monday.

Rescuers extinguished the flame and found 14 people dead from the van and 11 people dead from the pickup truck.

Only two passengers survived the accident, according to the local media.

The collision happened at about 2 p.m. local time (0700 GMT) on Road 344 in Ban Bung district of Chonburi.

Officials believe that the driver of the van fell asleep while driving and thus caused the tragedy. Endit
