49 Afghan militants killed in 24 hours:Gov't

Up to 49 armed militants have been killed during series of operations across the conflict-riddle Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, said a statement of Interior Ministry released here Sunday.

The operations, according to the statement covered parts of Zabul, Helmand, Paktiya, Logar, Oruzgan, Kandahar, Herat, Nangarhar, Sar-e-Pul, Faryab, Kunduz and Takhar provinces during which 31 more militants have been wounded and 16 others made captive.

However, the statement, didn't say if there were casualties on security personnel.

Neither Taliban militants, nor Islamic State outfit has made comment on the report. Enditem
