Burundi environment minister shot dead by gunman: police

Burundian Water, Environment and Territory Planning Minister Emmanuel Niyonkuru was early Sunday killed by a gunman, Burundian Police Spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye said on Twitter.

According to Nkurikiye, a gunman armed with a pistol ambushed the environment minister and shot him at Rohero around 00:45 local time as the minister was going home. Endit
