Ukraine targets to deepen its friendly ties with China in 2017, when the two countries celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a senior Ukrainian official said on Friday.

"We are working to open a window to China," Vadim Pristayko, Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister, was quoted as saying by the state-run Ukrinform news agency.

He said that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is preparing a visit of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to China next year.

Ukraine and China have established diplomatic ties on Jan. 4, 1992, shortly after Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union. Endit
