Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on Friday a decree envisaging measures to implement the United Nations Security Council's (UNSC) Resolution 2270, which imposes sanctions on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in response to Pyongyang's nuclear and missile tests.
The decree was published on the official portal of legal information earlier in the day.
The UNSC approved unanimously on March 2, 2016 a new package of sanctions against the DPRK, which included a ban on all exports of coal, iron, iron ore, gold, titanium ore, vanadium ore and rare earth metals from the DPRK.
It also prohibits the supply of all types of aviation fuel, including rocket fuel, to the DPRK, and requires all states to inspect all cargo going to and from the DPRK.
Pyongyang rejected in a government statement the resolution as "the most outrageous provocation" and threatened to take "resolute measures" against it.
The DPRK conducted its fourth nuclear test on Jan. 6 and went ahead with a long-range rocket launch on Feb. 7. Endi
