Russian deputy defense minister appointed deputy foreign minister

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday signed a decree appointing Anatoly Antonov deputy foreign minister in charge of military-political and security issues, and relieving him of his previous duties of deputy defense minister.

Antonov, 61, has earlier worked in various departments in the Foreign Ministry of the former Soviet Union and Russia, and has a rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary.

In the Defense Ministry, Antonov was in charge of international military and military-technical cooperation. Endi
