Thai police hunt for 35 human trafficking suspects

The Thai police are hunting for 35 suspected human traffickers whose portraits are being put on display at public spots throughout the country.

Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Kornchai Klayklueng announced on Thursday that the agency is yet to arrest all the 35 human trafficking suspects, mostly Thai nationals and currently at large, within next year.

A total of 10,000 copies of "Arrest Calendar for 2017" displaying the "most wanted list" of human trafficking suspects with photographs of their faces, names and other information will be distributed and pasted up at police stations, immigration units, district offices and other public places nationwide, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kornchai said.

Those who may provide police with any tip-offs which could possibly lead to the arrest of each of those human trafficking suspects will be awarded 20,000 baht (about 555 U.S. dollars) in cash, he said.

The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division has arrested human-trafficking suspects allegedly involved in a total of 89 cases so far this year. Enditem
