Malta, Britain to collaborate on air accident investigation

Xinhua, December 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Maltese Bureau of Air Accident Investigation (BAAI) and Britain's Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) have signed an agreement on air accident investigation collaboration, Maltese government announced on Wednesday.

Both sides aim to boost cooperation in relation to aircraft accident and incident investigations, and the sharing of experience and expertise in investigation techniques, equipment and research.

Under the agreement, both sides will exchange views on the latest development in European and International standards as well as mutual developing legislation.

The deal also intends to help enhance aviation safety in Malta, according to Malta's Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis.

"This MOU is another step in the right direction for Malta to continue investing in expertise with a country like the United Kingdom which has deep expertise in the aviation industry," he said. Endit
