The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

--The House of People's Representatives (Ethiopian Parliament) on Tuesday approved the Second National Human Rights Action Plan that runs until 2019.

The action plan includes detailed directions which will contribute to undertake human rights centered development activities and strengthen human rights institutions. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

--Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci and the 100 member business delegation on Wednesday begun a one-day visit to Ethiopia.

--A memorial service was held for Miruts Yifter, an Ethiopian running legend dubbed "Yifter the Shifter" for his ability to power away from rivals, in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday.

Miruts, a distance runner who won two gold medals in the 5,000- and 10,000-metre events at the 1980 Moscow Olympics and won bronze medals earlier at the 1972 Munich Games, died (few days back) at 72 after battling respiratory problems. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC) Endit
