Singapore stocks close 0.43 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 12.54 points, or 0.43 percent, to close at 2,898.30.

A total of 1.19 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 542.4 million Singapore dollars (373.8 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 258 to 149, while 696 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 14.71 points, or 0.51 percent, to close at 2,885.76 on Tuesday. Enditem
