Donald Duck, which tops Sweden TV watch list of 2016, attracted over one third of Swedish population on Christmas Eve this year, Swedish Television's (SVT) figures showed on Tuesday.

A 1950s compilation of Disney cartoons shown on Christmas Eve, called "From All of Us to All of You" and referred in Sweden as Donald Duck, was seen by 3.73 million people when it was broadcast at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24, according to SVT.

"It's very pleasing that broadcasting continues to attract such big audiences and to bring so many people together," Christer Mellstrand, SVT's acting marketing manager, was quoted as saying.

With a population of about 10 million, Swedes watch Donald Duck as a tradition since 1959. The hour-long show, features Disney cartoons such as Donald Duck, Snow White, Mickey Mouse, etc. was dubbed in Swedish. Endit
