9 killed, 45 injured in road accident in northern Morocco

Nine people were killed and 45 others injured, including 15 in critical conditions, in a road accident that occurred in northern Morocco on Sunday.

Local authorities in the city of Fez pointed out on Monday that the accident occurred when a bus, carrying a group of young people coming back from a picnic, overturned on the road linking the cities of Fez and Sidi Kacem.

An investigation was launched.

Deadly traffic accidents are common in the North African country.

According to data from the Moroccan Transport Ministry, a total of 3,565 people were killed in the country last year. Endit
