Europol coordinates drugs smuggling investigation

Xinhua, December 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

The European Police Office (Europol) has coordinated a joint investigation targeting an international criminal group involved in drugs smuggling, the Europol said Friday.

The criminal group is allegedly composed of Spanish and Polish individuals, who smuggled large quantities of marijuana mainly to Poland and Germany.

The ring set up marijuana cultivations in the houses with security measures, and stored large quantities of this illegal drug.

The investigation also found that the marijuana was vacuum-packaged to hide its smell before its concealment in the vegetables shipments.

During the operation in Spain, some 13 individuals were arrested. Furthermore, a total of 159 kg of marijuana, around 73,000 euros (76,000 U.S. dollars) in cash, a gun and six vehicles were seized. Endit
