Ethiopian running legend Yifter dies

Legendary Ethiopian runner Miruts Yifter has died in Canada at age 72, the Ethiopian Athletics Federation said on Friday.

Yifter won two gold medals at the 1980 Moscow Olympics at age 40 and won bronze medals at the 1972 Munich Games.

The family said that Yifter had been suffering from respiratory problems. Endit
