Malta launches regeneration strategy for capital city

Xinhua, December 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

After months of consultation, a regeneration strategy for Malta's capital city of Valletta was published on Thursday.

The strategy aims to address existing difficulties, as well as address the needs of residents and business owners who live or work in Valletta, authorities said.

The strategy will lead to social regeneration encouraging people to go and live in Valletta. This is because even though Valletta is a commercial hub, the city's population is in decline and there are numbers of properties that have been left vacant, they added.

The strategy comes ahead of Valletta taking on the title of European Capital of Culture in 2018. Enditem
