Digital photo exhibition on China's Tibet kicks off in Bangkok

A vivid photography exhibition on China's Tibet kicked off Wednesday in Bangkok, attracting many to admire the photos and to experience beautiful Tibetan scenery with virtual reality headsets.
"Digital Art Exhibition on Tibetan Cultural Heritage", which is jointly held by Xinhua News Agency and China Mobile, will last for five days at the Siam Paragon mall.
"I must say it's absolutely fantastic. I've seen lots of photographs of Tibet. I have been to Tibet myself, but this is the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen about Tibet," said Willy Mayor, an Austrian living in Thailand.
Besides enjoying photos of Tibet, audience can also put on virtual reality headsets to experience the scene of the famed Samye Monastery and other natural landscape.
An augmented reality experience also attracts many to use an app to scan selected postcards, thus the app can introduce where photos on these cards are taken and their stories.
Photos taken by reporters from Xinhua using modern technology will enable audience to experience Tibet's beautiful natural landscape and historical attractions, said Ming Dajun, chief of Xinhua's Bangkok Bureau.
"The exhibition with high tech will give Thai people a first impression of Tibet, we welcome our Thai friends to visit there, to experience Tibet's culture, religion, economic development and great changes in people's lives brought by China's reform and opening-up", said Ning Fukui, Chinese ambassador to Thailand.
