Ride-hailing giant Uber blamed a computer glitch for overcharging a handful of Uber passengers, including one woman who was charged over 28,000 dollars, Philly.com reported on Tuesday.
Uber declined to say how many people were affected but one Philadelphia woman said her bank blocked an attempt from Uber to charge her 28,639.14 dollars for a ride, the Philadelphia Media Network added.
The San Francisco-based company said the woman's bank was never charged that amount, but a hold for that amount was placed on her account, and the company's engineers were working to ensure a similar glitch does not happen again. Enditem
