Xinhua, December 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Norway's Prime Minister Erna Solberg on Tuesday reshuffled her cabinet by changing three ministers just nine months before next year's general election.

Terje Soviknes, a popular small town mayor from the Progress Party, has been appointed minister of petroleum and energy, replacing Tord Lien, the Norwegian government said in a statement.

Per-Willy Amundsen, a state secretary of the Progress Party, has been appointed minister of justice and public security, replacing Anders Anundsen.

Frank Bakke-Jensen, a lawmaker of the Conservative Party, has been appointed minister of European Economic Area and EU affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, replacing Elisabeth Vik Aspaker.

Solberg formed the coalition government of her Conservative Party and the Progress Party, with the support of the Christian Democratic Party and the Liberal Party, after the national election in 2013.

The next Norwegian parliamentary election is set for Sept. 11, 2017. Endit
