Portugal's terror threat level remains at moderate despite recent attacks in Europe, Secretary General of Portugal's Internal Safety System, Helena Fazenda, said on Tuesday.

Relevant anti-terrorism forces and services are following the developments of the violent events in Europe, according to an official statement released on Tuesday.

Portugal is also in touch with relevant bodies and collecting necessary data for evaluation, according to the statement.

The statement was released after the assassination of the Russian ambassador in Turkey and an attack on a Berlin Christmas market which killed at least 12 people on Monday.

Also on Monday, a perpetrator in Swiss city of Zurich shot a group of people who were praying, seriously injuring three of them. Endit
