Iran, France's Airbus to finalize plane purchase deal within days

A plane purchase deal between Iran and France's Airbus will be finalized within days, local media reported on Monday.

Asghar Fakhriyeh Kashan, the deputy minister of Iran's Roads and Urban Development, said that the deal will be signed in the following days, according to Tasnim news agency.

Kashan also said the first batch will be delivered in Jan. 2017.

Meanwhile, Abbas Akhoundi, the minister of Roads and Urban Development, said that details of the deal will be announced once it is inked, semi-official ISNA news agency reported.

Iran Air, the Iranian flag carrier, said Sunday that it has concluded a contract with Airbus to purchase 100 aircraft, Press TV reported.

Iran Air will receive seven or eight planes from Airbus in 2017, Farhad Parvaresh, the managing director of the airline, was quoted as saying. Endit
