Singapore stocks close 0.84 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 24.78 points, or 0.84 percent, to close at 2,913.08.

A total of 1.86 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 897.2 million Singapore dollars (620.5 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 263 at 167, while 656 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 7.09 points, or 0.24 percent, to close at 2,937.86 on Dec. 16. Enditem
