Brazilian Serie A champions Palmeiras have announced Eduardo Baptista as their coach for the next two seasons.

The 46-year-old replaces Alexi Stival, who stepped down after guiding the Sao Paulo outfit to their first top-flight title in 22 years last month.

"I'm very happy to join a club of this stature," Baptista told the official Palmeiras website on Friday.

Baptista's coaching career has included spells in charge of Sport Recife, Fluminense and Ponte Preta. Endit
