President Duterte meets Phlipinos in Singapore, defending war on drugs

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday addressed the Filipinos in Singapore during his second day visit and defended his war on drugs.

Organized by the Philippine Embassy, "Meeting with the Filipino Community in Singapore" attracted thousands of exciting Filipinos in Singapore despite the rain.

During his speech, President Duterte said his campaign against drugs would not stop until the end of his term.

Duterte also thanked Filipinos here for contributing to the economy and urged them to stand up for their rights.

Earlier in the day, Duterte met with Singapore business leaders, visited Singapore Botanic Gardens where an orchid was named in his honor. The Philippine president also had lunch with Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

This is Duterte's first state visit to Singapore since he took office after a landslide election victory. Endit
