Guangdong edges Jiangsu 106-103 for 13th straight win

With a double-double from Donald Sloan, Guangdong edged Jiangsu 106-103 in the 18th round of the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league regular season action here on Friday.

Since the last defeat on Nov. 11, Guangdong kept a good rhythm of winning for more than a month. The visiting team opened the game with a 13-7 run. Thank to more than 10 turnovers of Guangdong, Jiangsu turned the tide at the beginning of the third quarter.

Guangdong didn' t build the solid lead until the very end of the game. The 3-pointer of Guangdong upset the opponent and sealed the 13th straight win. Sloan, who shot six 3-pointers in the game, scored a team-high 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jiangsu' s Marshon Brooks took 41 points with seven 3-pointers.

Elsewhere on Friday, Guangsha swallowed the third loss in four games, losing 102-105 to Liaoning in a see-saw game. Guangsha took a 14-4 run at the beginning of the fourth quarter and nearly sealed the game at home. However Guangsha' s Courtney Fortson missed two 3-pointers in the last 10 seconds while the experienced Liaoning regained the advantage and took a difficult victory.

In other actions of the day, Shandong lost to Xinjiang 106-120, Guangzhou lost to Shanxi 109-112, Qingdao beat Bayi 98-90, Tianjin defeated Sichuan 109-100, Beijing smashed Fujian 116-90, Shenzhen won over Tongxi 122-117, Aolong upset Shanghai 116-112, Zhejiang defeated Jilin 105-99. Endit
