Singapore stocks close 0.24 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 7.09 points, or 0.24 percent, to close at 2,937.86.

A total of 2.32 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.34 billion Singapore dollars (952.69 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 221 at 209, while 658 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 23.29 points, or 0.79 percent, to close at 2,930.77 on Thursday. Enditem
