Sri Lanka, Malaysia to expand investment, trade ties

Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena has invited Malaysian investors to invest in the island nation and assured his government would provide all the required facilities, the president's media division said in a statement here on Friday.

The statement said that President Sirisena headed a business meeting of leading businessmen and investors of Malaysia and Sri Lanka which was held in Kuala lumpur, with the objective of enhancing the trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

The president, noting that the coming three years have been named as development years of Sri Lanka, invited Malaysian investors to invest in Sri Lanka.

He said the government is ready to provide all required facilities for the investors, the statement said. Endit
