Chinese sportsmen strive to participate in Toguz korgool World Championship, Guluibieke Hushaying told Xinhua on Thursday.

Guluibieke Hushaying from Urumqi, Xinjiang Uigur autonomous region is one of three Chinese sportsmen, who arrived in Bishkek to participate in the III Open Toguz korgool Championship of Asia, which runs in the Kyrgyz capital on December 13-21, 2016.

"I participated in competitions on Toguz korgool during the Second World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan last September. Then our team took the 4th place. After that it aroused my interest more and I was so inspired to participate in the World Championship," she said.

Guluibieke hopes to receive more experience from these games in Bishkek.

The III Open Toguz korgool Championship of Asia brought together 40 sportsmen from Azerbaijan, USA, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, South Korea and Kyrgyzstan.

Competitions are held for men and women separately in three disciplines (standard, Blitz and Rapid) in 7 rounds on Swiss system.

Toguz korgool (nine sheep droppings) is a two-player game in the mancala family that is played in Central Asia. The game is considered a national sport in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

The Toguz Korgool World Championships are held every two years. Enditem
