Iran and Indonesia held talks here on Wednesday to boost cooperation on security of the world and their mutual economic ties.
"I am in no doubt that this cooperation will benefit stability and security in the region and the Muslim world," said Iran's President Hassan Rouhani at a joint press conference with his visiting Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo.
Widodo arrived in Tehran on Tuesday leading a high ranking delegation, including Indonesian politico-economic senior officials.
The bilateral ties have witnessed improvements since his visit to Indonesia in 2015 which was followed by a nuclear agreement between Tehran and six world powers, the Iranian president said.
"We value relations with Indonesia, an important Muslim country in Asia," he said.
Iran plans to provide Indonesia with crude oil, liquid gas and petrochemicals among other products, he added.
For his part, the Indonesian president described his trip to Iran as a new chapter in Tehran-Jakarta relations, saying that his talks with Rouhani focused on the promotion of bilateral ties in different areas, including energy and economy.
On Wednesday meeting, the two sides agreed to cooperate in efforts to resolve the problems currently facing different parts of the Muslim world.
The countries' private sectors also signed eight documents of cooperation towards deepening relations in the day, the report said.
Widodo is scheduled to also meet with Iranian Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani.
The visit to Tehran is so important that Iran may play an important role to develop dialogue between Economic Cooperation Organization and Association of South-East Asian Nations in different sectors, Widodo told official IRNA news agency earlier.
The Indonesian president said that Indonesia wants to encourage the two regional organizations to address the obstacles for economic cooperation and draw up an operational action plan. Endit
