Singapore stocks close 0.04 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 1.17 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 2,954.06.

A total of 1.94 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 950.3 million Singapore dollars (667.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 230 at 200, while 652 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 3.04 points, or 0.1 percent, to close at 2,955. 23 on Tuesday. Enditem
