Fire breaks out on high-rise residence building on Dubai's plan island

Xinhua, December 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

A fire broke out on late Monday in the Oceana Palm luxury residence building on Dubai's man-made island Palm Jumeirah, triggering a massive rush of several fire brigades to the scene, with no casualties reported so far.

The government's official Dubai Media Office said the building was safely evacuated.

The Oceana Palm is located on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah and consists of an apartment complex with seven building blocks.

The media office said the cause of the incident has remained unknown.

Dubai police urged local residents and visitors to avoid driving to the area. The Gulf Arab emirate Dubai was hit by several fire incidents in high-rise buildings in 2016. Endit
