Czech humanitarian aid delivered to Syria

Xinhua, December 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

Another group of humanitarian aid worth 1.5 million crowns (60,000 U.S.dollars) was delivered on Monday to Syria as a part of the Czech governmental program of providing humanitarian, developmental and reconstruction assistance to Syria in 2016-2019.

Meanwhile, the Czech Foreign Ministry said on its website that four members of the committee on petitions of the Chamber of Deputies will be visiting Syria on Dec.12-16.

The four Czech deputies will meet Syrian parliament representatives, Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem and Local Administration Minister Hussein Makhluf whose office coordinates humanitarian aid.

They will hold talks on the situation within the region on ensuring humanitarian access to all parts of the country in compliance with the U.N. Security Council resolutions, as well as on bilateral relations.

Besides, they will also meet representatives of various humanitarian organizations and visit centers for the internally displaced people.

Czech has made deliveries of special humanitarian aid based on the requirements of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent since June 2016.

Previous deliveries consisted of mobile field kitchens, wheelchairs, crutches, special bandages and four dialysis units with special accessories.

The current consignment contains dried milk and toys for children from private donors, one dialysis machine and four defibrillators.

The shipment was delivered by the Czech military aircraft. Syrian Arab Red Crescent will redistribute the aid in most parts of the country, including Aleppo. Endit
