The Chinese Embassy in Laos on Monday sponsored vehicles for Lao capital Vientiane for the work of city management and planning development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, member of Politburo of Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Vientiane mayor, said the Chinese Embassy has provided many assistance to his city for government work.

The Chinese Embassy donated 11 cars, including pick-ups and minibuses. The assistance is of great significance, contributing to the completion of urban planning and long-term vision of Vientiane, so that Vientiane can become a modern city with development potentials, Sinlavong said.

The sponsorship also reflects the solidarity and mutual assistance between the two peoples, as well as deepen the friendship between the two countries, he added.

Chinese Ambassador to Laos Guan Huabing, for his part, said that as China and Laos are good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners, the two sides should help each other.

The vehicles will be used to strengthen the building of municipal government and serve the development of the city, which shows the friendship between peoples of the two countries, Guan said. Endit
