Slovak PM refuses to speculate over early elections

Xinhua, December 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

There's no reason to speculate on an early election in Slovakia, because the government will see out its term as normal to 2020, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said Monday.

Addressing a business debate in the capital, Fico said that any speculation over early elections is a "made-up game."

The statement came after Parliamentary Chairman and Slovak National Party (SNS) chief Andrej Danko's and opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) head Richard Sulik's told a TV talk show on Sunday that they had debated the possibility of an early election.

Fico said it's his duty to keep order and stability in Slovakia and the EU.

"It's my duty to preserve stability in this country at any price, in order to prevent another eurozone country from becoming part of the pre-election wrangles," he added. Endit
