China's top legislature will convene its bimonthly session from Dec. 19 to 25, according to a statement issued after a chairpersons' meeting Monday.

Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), presided over the meeting.

Legislators will continue deliberating draft general provisions of civil law and draft laws on traditional Chinese medicine, cultural services, and environmental tax at the session.

Legislators will consider bills to review an e-commerce law, a revision to a water pollution law, the quota and election of national deputies for the 13th NPC, and a draft decision on temporary law adjustments during the reform of the military officers' system.

Lawmakers will decide whether to ratify a criminal judicial assistance treaty between China and Malaysia.

The session will also review a draft decision on convening the 12th NPC's Fifth Session, as well as a report on the qualifications of certain NPC delegates.

They will also discuss appointments and dismissals during the bimonthly session. Endi
