Shanghai edges Shandong 113-111 for 8th straight win

Shanghai's Jimmer Fredette grabbed the rebound to kill the game after Shandong's Li Jingyu missed the last shot in the last three seconds of the OT, helping Shanghai beat Shandong 113-111 on Friday in the 15th round of the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.

Shanghai took an early lead 22-9 after the first quarter, but the visiting Shandong proved their toughness by fighting back till the last second.

The last 30 seconds of the fourth quarter were the moments of breathtaking. After Shanghai led by four with 29.5 seconds to go, Shandong's A. J. Price made a two-point shot and one free throw to narrow the gap to one.

Each team called its timeout in turn and both teams succeeded in their tough defense. Fredette missed one of his two free throws and Shanghai led Shandong by 102-100.

Ding Yanyuhang was then sent to the line, he missed his first and threw on the backboard on purpose in his second attempt.

Shandong's Sui Ran grabbed the rebound and made the shot to tie the game at 102-all with 1.6 seconds to go.

Then, Shanghai prevailed in the over time, and won the game 113-111 for their eighth straight win.

Fredette finished with a game-high 47 points and 17 rebounds, and three other Shanghai players scored double digits.

Price finished with a team-high 41 points, four rebounds and six assists.

Elsewhere on Friday, Jiangsu edged Tongxi 114-112, Guangzhou smashed Zhejiang 125-95, the defending champion Sichuan beat Qingdao 103-98, and Aolong lost to Shenzhen 99-117. Endit
